Trip Overview

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of Nepal’s most iconic journeys, leading you through the heart of the Annapurna range to the foot of Annapurna I (8,091 m), the world’s tenth-highest peak. Over 14 carefully paced days, JauntNepal takes you from the temples and stupas of Kathmandu, across the lakeside town of Pokhara, and deep into the Annapurna Conservation Area — through subtropical valleys, rhododendron forests, and traditional Gurung and Magar villages, before entering the dramatic natural amphitheater known as the Annapurna Sanctuary.

This trek is treasured for its extraordinary diversity: a single itinerary that combines a legendary sunrise at Poon Hill, thrilling suspension bridge crossings, warm village hospitality, and a final arrival in a circle of 7,000-and-8,000-metre giants — Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Hiunchuli and Gangapurna — all without requiring any technical climbing experience.

Every group trek is led by a licensed, English-speaking guide and supported by porters, with permits, accommodation, and most meals arranged for you from the moment you land in Kathmandu to the moment you depart. Whether this is your first Himalayan trek or your fifth, JauntNepal handles the logistics so you can focus on the mountains.

Trek Highlights

  • Sunrise over the Himalayas from Poon Hill (3,210 m), with Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South and Nilgiri lit up in gold
  • Standing inside the Annapurna Sanctuary, a natural amphitheater ringed by six peaks above 7,000 m
  • Up-close, ever-present views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), one of the most sacred and photogenic peaks in Nepal
  • Diverse landscapes in a single trek: subtropical forest, bamboo groves, rhododendron forest, and high alpine terrain
  • Cultural encounters in traditional Gurung and Magar villages, including Ghandruk and Chhomrong
  • Relaxing at the natural hot springs of Jhinu Danda beside the Modi Khola
  • Thrilling crossings of high suspension bridges over glacial rivers and gorges
  • Kathmandu and Pokhara sightseeing: UNESCO World Heritage Sites and the lakeside town of Pokhara
  • Warm teahouse hospitality and home-cooked Nepali meals along the trail
  • A moderate, non-technical trek accessible to any reasonably fit trekker — no mountaineering experience required
